Roads, highways, and bridges are essential for public safety and a healthy economy!
While Oregon's population has grown, the wear on Oregon's infrastructure has taken its toll. Our roads and bridges are in disrepair and are on the verge of collapse. We need to act now to rebuild Oregon's infrastructure and provide a safer place for our families to live.
Public service providers, such as Firefighters and Police personnel find themselves overworked and underpaid. When we invest in our public service providers we can build stronger police and fire departments. We can rest assured that we are safe and secure both on the road and in our homes.
Current Road and Bridge Conditions
· 17,000 miles of Oregon’s roads are in poor or mediocre condition.
· 1,150 of Oregon’s bridges are structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.
Road conditions are a significant factor in approximately one-third of traffic fatalities. Al has a plan to fix our roads and repair our bridges. By strengthening Oregon's Economy through new jobs and green technologies, we can afford to make the necessary improvements that will save Oregonians millions of dollars each year and save lives, while promoting economic prosperity.
